Before and After

Did some cropping first, next processed with Nik Software’s Detail Extractor in Color Efex Pro4. Then did some fine tuning on the colors in Nik Software’s Viveza2, and final step was cloning out some imperfection here and there in PS Elements.

Unusual effect. Old artifacts with fresh, bright colors.

What are you going to do when Nik doesn’t work any more? I love these filters but our time with them may be limited.

Patricia, if you have it, you will always have it, it’s not going to disappear from your computer. So not worried that google is not doing any updates or new programs with it, it’s still a great program as is. I have to say that I don’t use it as much as I use to since I found Smart Photo Editor, it’s better then the NIK programs as far as creative filters.

    Hello Mike,

I really like your work and have told many photographers about you. This email, as with others of late, is a repeat rather than a “new post”…unless I am missing something done differently with this image than before. In the past L looked forward to your emails and what you had photographed / processed but they have been losing their appeal with, as far as I can tell, reruns of images. Keeping in touch is one thing but this isn’t working for me lately. Please send new info when available.

    Thanks, Debbie

    • Mike Moats says:

Debbie, I rerun posts on a yearly basis, so if you have been following for over a year then yes you will start to see posts repeated. I do on occasion come up with new posts but you can’t do something new daily year after year. The other thing is I have new subscribers each day that haven’t seen these posts before and I can’t do a post and never re-post because the new viewers would never get to see them. So those are my reasons for the re-posts. Most people don’t follow me for more than a year, so I probably lose many of them before they even see the re-posts.
