We are all looking for the places that provide new opportunities to shoot macro subjects. In one of the parks I shoot at they are restructuring the water system. They dug out a new canal, and it follows right along the edge of a woods full of Cottonwoods trees. At this time of year in early October in Southeast Michigan, the Cottonwood trees start to lose some early fall leaves. It’s still a few weeks away before the leaves start to really fall and turn colors, but I found quite a bit of subject matter already. No floating leaves that I liked, but found other comps to shoot.
Here is the new canal.
This group was floating at the edge.
