Thanks Mike! This ball head was on my purchase list just this week so I went ahead and did it. G.

  3. Jeff Morett says:

Will the Acratech work on the Vanguard Alta series 70? And will the QR from the SBH-100, it’s current head, be able to be used as well?

    • Mike Moats says:

Jeff I don’t see a 70 series listed in the vanguard line up, but the Acratech head fits on all the tripods I have ever come across. The threaded shaft on the tripod that the ballhead screws onto can come in two different thread sizes, but the Acratech ballhead comes with a threaded insert to adapt to the two different sizes.

  4. Jeff Morett says:

Hi Mike, it’s actually the Alta Pro 263AT but thanks for the info. It’s my birthday present to myself. 🙂
