Contrasting Layers

Posted: July 7, 2016 in Uncategorized
When you read the title, you probably thought I was going to talk about doing layers in photoshop, but no it’s layers in subjects.
When I’m out shooting I will come across subjects that will have contrasting layers.
In the first image you see the first layer of the plant in a lighter green color, and the second layer with darker leaves, and the background layer of the rust color wall. The contrast allows the layers to standout.

In the second image there are also three contrasting layers.
Look for layers when out searching subjects.

  1. These are really fantastic. The layers make them so interesting and give depth. Also the red and green being complementary colors really makes those two pop. I really like your approach to photography. It is really inspiring me. I am a beginner. But until I found your blog, I was so frustrated.
