Black Backgrounds

Occasionally I like to create a flower image with a black background, and my material of choice to do this is black fleece of some call it felt, which has a texture to it that helps to diffuse any glare or shiny spots.. You can get it at your local craft or fabric store. Don’t use smooth or silky fabrics as they tend to cause some glare.

  1. Where is your light source coming from and what are you using to get the light in those specific areas? Are you doing that in post production or when you photograph the flowers?
