Stony Creek Metro Park in Southeast Michigan has some great vernal ponds which are low areas in the woods that fill with water from spring snowmelts and rains.  By this time in August the ponds have all evaporated and are dry. Because of the constants rains we have had this year, the ponds still hold water.  So this is a bonus year for shooting in the ponds.  It has been very windy lately and not good weather for photographing the local wildflowers, but the wind doesn’t effect shooting at the pond.  So yesterday I went out and captured a nice frog shot and a few floating leaves.
