Last Weekend Of Summer

Here is Michigan we call “Labor Day Weekend” the last weekend of summer. The kids go back to school after this weekend and vacations are all done. After this weekend he temperatures start to cool as the summers season slowly transforms into Fall.  Many people like to visit the beaches for the holiday weekend so I thought I would do another beach scene.  Yesterday’s daily macro view was also a beach scene from St Augustine, Florida,  and I got a chance to visit some of the shell shops to pick up shells to use as subjects to photograph in my Macro Workshops.

I bought some sliced sections from Nautilus shells, which have an interesting design and you can see though them.  So I took one down to the beach and pressed it into the sand and used the sand as the background. In processing the image I decided to make it a black and white.

Your composition has the subject looking like a historical artifact as well as art. Setting it in black and white does it!

Reminds me of looking down a spiral staircase.
